We thought we would introduce a new weekly post, which is all about items we are lusting over from some of our favorite stores.
This week we went into one of our all time favorites, Witchery. It is seriously my go to store, it doesn’t matter what I need or for what occasion I need something…. (or no occasion at all) this is the store where Ill find what I am looking for and is always the first store I go to.
First up is the mid tan heel – this shoe is so cute. It is going to be seen everywhere, all the stores have a similar version. I love this one as the strap in singular, as I am not a fan of cross straps and the shoe is suede. The heel height is perfect for spring / summer, it is stylish and comfortable for day or night. Team with jeans and cute white blouse and you will just scream summer!

Next up is the cute little white gathered top – Witchery are stating “Loaded with versatility but equally decorative, the Gathered Top will easily take you from the boardroom to bar. The sleek design is rendered with a deep v-front and elasticised waistband with frill details for an ultimately feminine finish“. I am totally agreeing with that, this top is so cute and we think that the semi peplum look adds / or hides any tummy issues you maybe having.
Lastly we are loving the cute crossbody bag. I have my eye on the Chanel Wallet on a Chain (which is just a tad out of my price range) so I have been trying to find something that I would be happy to wear, which looks classy and is functional. With its tan and natural finish this bag is perfect for all outfit colour combos palettes and occasions. This cute little bag ticks all my boxes.

These 3 items should start getting you a little more excited about the future summer days and nights that are slowly making their way too us. Check back next week to see what we are lusting over! xx
So I have just gotten back from 3 weeks in Italy, it was truly amazing. I got to experience an Italian wedding, walk my families village with my Nonno hearing about all his stories and also travel both to the south and north of the beautiful country. I climbed the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Duomo in Milan, sailed around the Island of Capri, drove the Amalfi Coast and even went to the Monza F1 Grand Prix.
I also completely over-packed even though, I promised I wouldn’t, and also didn’t wear half of what I did pack (silly me).The weather was perfect the whole time we were there. I window shopped all the big designer labels, Gucci, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and wondered why there were so many of these designer stores, they are everywhere……but all empty. Who was shopping in them. I also wondered why is portrayed that all these beautiful Italian women are wearing high heeled Jimmy Choo, when in fact they are all wearing flats. I know I wouldn’t try to navigate those cobbled streets with high heels, I struggle just on flat concrete.
I did notice that most women wore capri / ankle length pant (tailored) with a silk shirt or blouse. They did look impeccable, and you could tell the quality of their clothing was very high. It was a very basic ensemble but looked very tailored and well put together. I did see a lot of the jeans, sneaker and blazer look as well, I look I love. There were also plenty of Adidas Stan Smiths rocking those cobbled streets too.
We would love to know about your favorite European looks. Stay tuned to read all about my favorite places and do’s and dont’s of travelling in Italy. In the meantime take a look at some of my pics. xx
We just got back from our annual week of glamping at the perfect spot of Port Elliot on the Fleurieu Peninsula. The weather in this neck of the woods is always hit & miss, this year definitely a miss. The day we left it was 40 degrees, but by nightfall that had all changed, hence the list of our clothing “must haves” was created, to make sure all basis were and are covered for future glamping trips.
We have the summer tee dress – this can be worn around on a warm day and is just an easy piece. Rolled up takes up no room at all which is a bonus.
Kaftan – to wear down on the beach over the bathers, especially if your not one confident enough to flaunt it. I live in one of these over the summer on the beach with the kids. I feel comfortable as it is still covering me up but still letting me feel like I’m beach worthy.
Jeans – these should be the first item thrown in the bag. Wear with a tee and thongs or a jumper and sneakers if its colder. What really needs to be said, they speak for themselves.
Shorts – another item which you can’t not take, can’t live without them.
Chambray Shirt – wear it over the dress or with the shorts when it starts to get cooler, wear it under the cardigan that you will also be packing for when the cold spell hits. This is a layering item and will become required at some stage of your trip, so just pack it!
Off course your bag also consists of the cardigan, track pants, bathers, t-shirts, sneakers, thongs and your pyjamas. Making sure all items are within the same colour palette helps mixing & matching. I like to take either black, white & grey palette or a Navy, white & grey palette, then throwing on a bright scarf or necklace for a pop of colour. Is there anything else you think we may have missed or that you like to take?
I’m sure I’ve mentioned before, that I am more of a shorts person that a dress type of gal, even though I have purchased two dresses in the past month…(shh don’t tell Scott). Shorts for me work better with my lifestyle and body shape. I have two sports obsessed boys who I am either playing some one on one basketball with or kicking the footy – shorts work better for both.
Lets move out of those pants this summer and shine some sun onto those legs. Though take some points into consideration;
Make sure the shorts your wearing or buying are right for your body shape.
- Consider your height, longer shorts create the impression of shorter legs, while shorter shorts lengthen the leg, giving the impression of height.
- Look for shorts that have clean, straight lines. The large pockets on cargo pockets tend to draw attention to your hips and thighs. Instead, opt for shorts in fun bright colours, or a print. Dark-coloured shorts are also slimming and can look both casual and sophisticated paired with the right shoes.
- Nothing but your legs should be sticking out from the bottom of your shorts. This goes for the pockets of jean shorts, underwear, and anything else your shorts cover. Once you’ve hit the big 3-0, cut back on embellishments and short short hemlines. Look to structured lines to polish your look. In your 40s+ Reach for longer lengths and tailored detailing for a chic sophisticated look.
We have finally hit summer, which means showing more skin, longer days, bbq dinners and glasses of white wine or Alicante. What do we need to get through this perfect time of year; dresses, short sleeve tops, shorts, skirts, sandals. I have bought a few items for my wardrobe already including these items below – but do have a couple of other items I have my eyes on….
I bought this dress mainly as a dress to wear to work on those hot days – it can also now be bought in a light blue colour. I really love it, dressed with a wedged sandal / heel and a coloured necklace it will be perfect for work. Ill also wear it more casually on the weekend with a flat sandal and can be worn with heels if I was wanting to dress it up for a night out.
I bought this dress as another work dress (yes its black again) – but I love the shirt dress. This one has the longer back hem line and sits beautifully. And this one is a little dresser than the other, I am really looking forward to wearing this one out with heels – just haven’t decided what statement necklace to wear with it.
I had wanted the Chambray utility pant from Country Road for quite some time, so I finally bought them with the spend and save offer they have had on. Mainly for the weekend, on those cooler nights. Though I have seen the chambray pant being rocked with a pair of heels….not sure if ill get there. If you have wanted a pair yourself, these are the ones to get as with all Country Road items there quality is at its best. During the spend and save I purchased a couple of the Country Road Linen tees – these are the best quality ones I have ever purchased, usually the linen tees over stretches and becomes loose around neck, but the County Road ones are perfect – do not buy any others except these and they come in a huge range of colours.
The beginning of this week has allowed us to undress and get some much needed vitamin D rays into our skin. This weather is perfect for starting to try out some of those Spring trends we have been hearing about. Whites and pastels are always big in the beginning of spring, it’s an easy combo to try. A white pair of jeans and a pastel pink, blue or mint top is an easy way to try this trend.
Off the shoulder dresses and tops along with midriffs are also going to make there way on to some people. Off the shoulder tops, just like the ones from the 90’s are cute, very wearable and summery. Midriffs on the other hand, well let’s just say they aren’t going to be for everyone maybe just the models in the magazines or teenage girls.
Other spring summer trends I’ve been seeing in magazines, new season ranges and on the web are stripes (love the easiness of stripes), wide leg pants and it seems cobalt blue hues are coming back our way. Which is great besides the fact that I passed on my colbat blue shirt as I thought it was done (doesn’t that always happen?)
What other trends are you waiting to try, now that winter is out the door?
