This week I hit up Katies. I have been seeing all the other bloggers advertising their clothing, which got me intrigued. I haven’t been to Katies for a very long time and all of a sudden the brand was popping up everywhere (even on my fb page)….I had to see what all the fuss was about. Guess what, I was quite surprised.
First up this cute summer dress, which is screaming 70’s (all the rage this season). I really like it, it’s a good length, colour and print. I would wear it with tan sandals or cute block heel (like the one from Witchery). It would be an easy to wear item for the summer months.

I really like these cute cropped sateen print pants, (a few prints to choose from). A cropped pant works so well for summer, perfect for the office with a block heel and solid block coloured top. Like a pair of good tailored shorts, a pair of pants like these will look good for all occasions.

Found this great batwing top, it’s cotton so very light weight and breathable – and it’s in one of my favourite colours…Coral. Team with some jeans, tan sandals and bag and you are ready to get out the door. An easy to wear top that I love.
Katies was quite a surprise, I liked quite a lot of the stock they had on display. The best thing was the reasonable, affordable price of all their clothes. Ill be heading back in the future.
Ladies this weeks lust haves are late due to the long weekend, neither of us had time to get into a CR store either so we have been searching online. We love Country Road – their clothes are always made well, the quality is always excellent and they stand the test of time.
I found this cute Cape shoulder top, which comes in white. I am loving it, I could wear it to either work or play. This spring / summer a lot of tops are going to be with a cape shoulder or have shoulder cut outs, which adds a little something different. I am also loving that this top almost billows out and isn’t snug. It maybe worth a store visit.

Next item I am eyeing is a pair of Culottes – in classic black these culottes have serious style mileage. Simplicity is the key when it comes to dressing these the trouser-skirt hybrid. The culotte is defintly cementing itself as the must-have piece for spring/summer. If your not use to wearing these it is best to strike a balance, wearing a heel helps to lengthen your look and balance out the large, billowy leg opening.
And lastly who doesn’t love a tailored short for summer. A black short can smarten up any day time look, it’s a polished chic look. CR say “Clean and tailored, this high-waisted short will prove a versatile piece in your spring wardrobe. Pair it with a drapey silk shirt and dressy sandal on the weekend”. We are all on the same page with these babies. If you were to grab one item it should be the tailored short.
This weeks lust have’s – we would love to know your favourite?
This week we were scouring the racks at Seed Heritage and found some absolute beauties. We have nailed it down to our top three.
Cocoon Frill Dress – totally loving this dress, it is very cute and being black you will can and will wear it for all occasions. This dress will look like perfection with some strappy heels for an cocktail event, but will also look super cute with some flat lace up sandals on a nice warm night. Just add a cute clutch, some earrings a cuff – and your off.
Our next pick is also another dress, this one is a lot more casual but this dress will get a lot of wear over the summer months. The lace up striped dress has a tie up front detail to add a little something extra. The tee shirt dress is on our wardrobe staple list meaning it is a “must have” for all. This style of dress is easy to wear and perfect for the beach, casual weekend running around and catch up’s. Wear it with sandals or a pair of havaianas, place a fedora on your head and your ready.

Next up we chose the Denim Cap – as I need a new one. I was after a leather cap, but came across this one and thought it would be much more practical and would go with more. It will be easy to sun smart and safe with this little beauty.
What do you guy think of this weeks list? Check back next week to see what we have found. xx
I have just read about a friend of mine who hasn’t bought any clothing this year. That is pretty remarkable, 7 months wearing the clothing already in her wardrobe. We are all asking “how can this be done” and how did we not notice?
The idea is almost frightening to only wear what you already own and not to go shopping…..which would be the hardest part. But if you already love the clothes in your wardrobe and you have key pieces in a similar colour or theme already, it is a pretty simple process that we could and should all try.
By building a capsule wardrobe with key pieces that are interchangeable with each other, means you wouldn’t need to have all the other stuff – the stuff that fills our wardrobe but we don’t wear. Your can then update your look each time by adding different accessories, with statement necklaces, bags, shoes and belts in pops of colour to accentuate your mood or look for the day. Easy!
How do you start building a capsule wardrobe……by cleaning out your wardrobe. Yes we have all be there, its usually a great idea at the time, until it gets late in the day and you still and have a pile of clothing on your bed. What you must do is keep all your favourite pieces, your staples and seasonal pieces – then see what works with them out of all your other stuff/ pieces.
For more great points & info on how to start this process (because it does take work) which is not only great for your wardrobe but your bank account, head over to this great blog post by Caroline at Unfancy – capsule wardrobe 101 who has been living this simplistic & minimal lifestyle for the past 2 years. We are jumping for joy at Daily Style HQ, black and white block colouring is making its way back this winter. At the start of every season, mainly Autumn and Winter all the designers and fashion magazines tell us all about the new colours that we must be wearing this season, trying to push black and white to the back of our wardobes. This season it started with grey, all fifty shades of it, then mulberry, next came along camel hues. Now you will start seeing block black and white hitting the shelves again.
These two colours are not only the base of our wardrobes, but basically 90% of our clothing is either black or white, if not black and white striped (we love stripes). Black and white is the most true and tried colour combination, it is simple, crisp, polished and very chic.
What do you think of this classic colour combo? Check out these great peices from Witchery and more style inspro below.
