This week I hit up Katies. I have been seeing all the other bloggers advertising their clothing, which got me intrigued. I haven’t been to Katies for a very long time and all of a sudden the brand was popping up everywhere (even on my fb page)….I had to see what all the fuss was about. Guess what, I was quite surprised.
First up this cute summer dress, which is screaming 70’s (all the rage this season). I really like it, it’s a good length, colour and print. I would wear it with tan sandals or cute block heel (like the one from Witchery). It would be an easy to wear item for the summer months.

I really like these cute cropped sateen print pants, (a few prints to choose from). A cropped pant works so well for summer, perfect for the office with a block heel and solid block coloured top. Like a pair of good tailored shorts, a pair of pants like these will look good for all occasions.

Found this great batwing top, it’s cotton so very light weight and breathable – and it’s in one of my favourite colours…Coral. Team with some jeans, tan sandals and bag and you are ready to get out the door. An easy to wear top that I love.
Katies was quite a surprise, I liked quite a lot of the stock they had on display. The best thing was the reasonable, affordable price of all their clothes. Ill be heading back in the future.
Ladies this weeks lust haves are late due to the long weekend, neither of us had time to get into a CR store either so we have been searching online. We love Country Road – their clothes are always made well, the quality is always excellent and they stand the test of time.
I found this cute Cape shoulder top, which comes in white. I am loving it, I could wear it to either work or play. This spring / summer a lot of tops are going to be with a cape shoulder or have shoulder cut outs, which adds a little something different. I am also loving that this top almost billows out and isn’t snug. It maybe worth a store visit.

Next item I am eyeing is a pair of Culottes – in classic black these culottes have serious style mileage. Simplicity is the key when it comes to dressing these the trouser-skirt hybrid. The culotte is defintly cementing itself as the must-have piece for spring/summer. If your not use to wearing these it is best to strike a balance, wearing a heel helps to lengthen your look and balance out the large, billowy leg opening.
And lastly who doesn’t love a tailored short for summer. A black short can smarten up any day time look, it’s a polished chic look. CR say “Clean and tailored, this high-waisted short will prove a versatile piece in your spring wardrobe. Pair it with a drapey silk shirt and dressy sandal on the weekend”. We are all on the same page with these babies. If you were to grab one item it should be the tailored short.
This weeks lust have’s – we would love to know your favourite?
So I have just gotten back from 3 weeks in Italy, it was truly amazing. I got to experience an Italian wedding, walk my families village with my Nonno hearing about all his stories and also travel both to the south and north of the beautiful country. I climbed the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Duomo in Milan, sailed around the Island of Capri, drove the Amalfi Coast and even went to the Monza F1 Grand Prix.
I also completely over-packed even though, I promised I wouldn’t, and also didn’t wear half of what I did pack (silly me).The weather was perfect the whole time we were there. I window shopped all the big designer labels, Gucci, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and wondered why there were so many of these designer stores, they are everywhere……but all empty. Who was shopping in them. I also wondered why is portrayed that all these beautiful Italian women are wearing high heeled Jimmy Choo, when in fact they are all wearing flats. I know I wouldn’t try to navigate those cobbled streets with high heels, I struggle just on flat concrete.
I did notice that most women wore capri / ankle length pant (tailored) with a silk shirt or blouse. They did look impeccable, and you could tell the quality of their clothing was very high. It was a very basic ensemble but looked very tailored and well put together. I did see a lot of the jeans, sneaker and blazer look as well, I look I love. There were also plenty of Adidas Stan Smiths rocking those cobbled streets too.
We would love to know about your favorite European looks. Stay tuned to read all about my favorite places and do’s and dont’s of travelling in Italy. In the meantime take a look at some of my pics. xx
It seems everyone is writing posts about what they are packing on their trips away….well I am going to jump on board! I am heading off to Italy next week for 3 beautiful glorious weeks. I’ll be in my families village for my cousins wedding, which is south of Rome right near Naples, then heading back to Rome and onto Nice. My suitcase needs to be filled with easy, casual summer clothes that can take me from the beach, to the shops then off to dinner.
We have previously touched on capsules wardrobes, well I am going to need a capsule suitcase. Where else would I find all the right ideas and inspiration needed for this task, but Pinterest. I have been scrolling through and pinning like a crazy women, but have found all the inspro I required.
First thing I had to decide was a colour scheme, I have chosen a colour palette of – Black, white, Navy & Grey – and then throwing in shoes, bags & accessories to change up the outfit looks. Everything that I pack has to be able to be worn together (mix & match), and by keeping to a pretty neutral colour scheme Ill be able to achieve this. I am hoping to pack as little as possible, because we all know you have to have a little shop when on holidays! Cant wait to show you all what I am packing….

The sleeveless cape is going to be / will be a staple as part of the trans seasonal change. It is a go to piece for many right now, including us and we will continue to see them everywhere heading into spring. We love how this one item can completely change the look of an outfit. The sleeveless coat is chic, bold, eye catching and ever so versatile. With so many varieties in style and colour there is bound to be one that suits us all…or you could purchase a couple in different colours – to meet all your needs.
- Wear the coat over a long sleeve, with jeans and heels for a real chic look.
- Wear it over a white crisp shirt for the workplace
- Add a waist cinching belt, to add or show off some curves
- In summer wear it over a singlet top to show off your killer looking arms
Ideas are endless for this – our favourite trans seasonal piece…..take a look below for more inspro.
Who doesn’t love a little bling. An easy way to change up an outfit or make it pop is to add accessories. From statement necklaces, scarfs, hats and even shoes – they all create a new look in their own way.
By throwing on a scarf, you can add an extra layer of color and texture to any outfit. And the good news is that they aren’t just for winter these days. You can experiment with different colours, patterns & lengths. The best bit, there is a hundred clips and blog posts out that show you all the different ways they can be worn.
Statement jewellery can include necklaces, earrings and bracelets. By using statement pieces you can take the attention away from specific areas of your body. Just one statement piece can transform an simple outfit and make it pop. We all love statement pieces from the likes of Mimco, Witchery and Colette Hayman, but did you know about a little south aussie brand Blush & Co. These pieces are to die for and hand made with love.
Hats are becoming very popular, from leather baseball caps, straw cowboy influenced hats, floppy felt hats and fedoras. They are seen every where these days and not only in summer. Wearing a hat adds another layering piece which can keep extra warm in the cooler months. Choosing a hat and style that is right for you and your outfit is important. Belts are another way to change up an outfit.
By adding a belt and accentuating the waist you change the whole shape of outfit. Belts over dresses, shirts, cardigans all define the waist and show off curves and even create some. Belts come in a range a sizes, thickness, colours and textures these days, they are another inexpensive way to change your outfit up.
Shoes are in a world of their own. Basically anything goes with shoe colour, pattern and texture these days. Using shoes to transform your outfit can take it to a whole new level of chic, glamorous and sophistication. Definitely invest in a fun colour or printed pair of heels to add spark to a simple yet chic outfit. Take some inspro from below. xx

Not sure if you all saw my new purchase last week from the Iconic, I bought a pair of Adidas Stan Smiths (miss smiths too be exact). I absolutely love looking at the way these shoes are being worn around the world, everyone is wearing them especially a lot of girls in Europe. Over the past two years, this shoe has gone from sitting on the shelf collecting dust (Adidas even stopped making them for a little while) to the feet of many and being constantly sold out.
These shoes are as big, if not bigger than the Vans and Converse Chuck Taylors we have all become customised to. They are perfect for our #mumsstyle we have going on, as they look great with jeans and ponte pants, chunky knits & chambray shirts. Because they are white, they will go with most items and colour palettes too.
Check out the inspiration below, then go get yourself a pair. We love them!
Loving them as much as we do, buy yourself a pair here!
